Delivery of parcels to Jaffna to be expedited

COLOMBO: The Postal Department has made arrangements to distribute Jaffna mail and parcels stuck in Trincomalee.

Steps are being taken following the advice of the Essential Services Commissioner.

Nearly 9,000 letters and parcels due to be sent to Jaffna are stuck in Trincomalee.

However, the Postal Department has informed the Commissioner that all essential goods are available now and there is no need for relatives and friends to send such parcels to Jaffna.

Many parcels contain heavy goods such as rice, dhal and sugar.
