Hakeem at 3GSM World Congress

CONGRESS: The newly appointed Minister of Posts and Telecommunication Rauff Hakeem is in Barcelona, Spain to attend the 3 GSM World Congress 2007. Various local delegates of private communication institutions too are addressing this four day event.

This is the first official overseas event after assuming duty, undertaken by the Minister of Telecommunication.

The 3GSM World Congress and exhibition is an annual event. 3GSM World Congress 2007 will be held from February 12 to 15. Top executives from the telecommunication sectors, mobile operators, IT companies and other entertainment providers are at this event.

This four days of exposure to the global communication sector, is expected to bring technological know how to the Sri Lankan telecommunication industry.

The 3GSM World Congress 2007 presented by GSM Association, is a big event attracting 60,000 visitors and featuring 1,300 exhibition booths including the global GSM account operators in the global mobile service market and the 2.2 billion users.
