Over 80 Commercial Bank branches to stay open on bank holidays
OPENING: The Commercial Bank will keep over 80 of its branches
open on public and bank holidays during the year to better serve the
public, especially the mercantile sector which works on these days.
For a start, all Commercial Bank branches in the Colombo and Gampaha
districts and those at Akuressa, Anuradhapura, Dambulla, Galewela,
Hingurakgoda, Kandy, Kekirawa and Kuliyapitiya will be kept open from
9.00 am to 1.30 pm on Mahasivarathri Day falling on February 16.
Thereafter, these branches would also be open on Good Friday (April
6), Deepavali (November 8) and Id-ul-Alha [Hadji] (December 21) even
though these are designated as Bank Holidays. In addition to these all
17 Supermarket Counters and the four 365-day Holiday Banking Centres at
Colombo 7, Negombo, Galle City and Ampara will be kept open as usual,
the bank announced this week.

Sri Lanka's leading bank and having a strong corporate sector clientele,
we are committed to help our corporate clients by enhancing banking
convenience and accessibility.
Customers would be able to carry out all over-the-counter banking
transactions including opening of accounts and obtaining foreign
exchange for travel abroad on these days." |
