Three killed, 27 injured in bus crash

KALUWAMODERA: Two private passenger buses collided head on the Galle road in Kaluwamodera in Aluthgama killing three and injuring 27, yesterday around 6.00 a.m.

According to police, a private bus from Maggona to Aluthgama collided with a Colombo bound semi-luxury private bus from Tangalle while attempting to overtake another vehicle.

The injured were admitted to the Nagoda Hospital. The dead included the conductor of the Tangalle-Colombo bus. He and two others died after being admitted to Hospital.

Two of the injured who were critical were transferred to the Colombo National Hospital. Twenty five injured persons are at Nagoda Hospital.
