Air Force pounds another LTTE camp

TRINCOMALEE: The Air Force pounded an LTTE meeting point in Kadawan, South of Morawewa in Trincomalee yesterday morning as troops consolidated an area captured from the terrorists.

According to Air Force sources the target was destroyed yesterday around 8 a.m. "The target was an LTTE camp located in the Kadawan jungle and it was used as a gathering point of LTTE cadres," he added.

He said MI-24 helicopters pounded bombs on the LTTE gathering point after the target was precisely identified by accurate surveillance.

LTTE cadres fled the area. The number of LTTE casualties was not immediately available.
