Record crowds at Deyata Kirula

Closing date extended :

COLOMBO: Deyata Kirula, the educational and development exhibition attracted over 100,000 people from Colombo and outstations yesterday at the BMICH.

A large number of people were present at the entrance by 10.00 a.m. and had to wait at the gate until the opening ceremony was over.

Director General BMICH Bandula Ekanayake requested the public to visit the exhibition from 11.00 a.m. to avoid inconvenience at the gate during the opening ceremony.

The Government has decided to extend the closing date of the exhibition until February 9 to allow more people to see it.

It was the first time that an exhibition of this nature has been witnessed by so many people. "We enjoyed it very much and it was a very useful exhibition for our children.

We thank the President and the Government for giving this opportunity to our children," commented many parents.
