Brilliant century by Gimhan
CRICKET: Kingswood College, Kandy scored a first innings win
over St. Anthony's College, Kandy in their Schools Lemonade Trophy
Cricket tournament match concluded at Katugastota yesterday.
But Antonian opening bat Gimhan Dissanayake stole the limelight with
a brilliant 113 off 102 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes in the second
innings. He reached his hundred in only 91 balls.
His effervescent knock helped his side to declare at 252 for 7 in
only 44.5 overs setting their opponents the task of scoring 243 runs to
win in 39 overs. Kingswoodian were 151 for 4 in 39 overs. Skipper Asiri
Amerasinghe stroked an elegant 76 not out with 13 fours off 107 balls.
