Nutritious food for Jaffna's chickengunya victims
COLOMBO: Social Services and Social Welfare Minister Douglas
Devananda has taken necessary steps to provide 'Chickengunya' affected
children below 5 years and elders above 65 years with nutritious food.
Recovery of the victims of 'Chickengunya' in Jaffna peninsula, has
been found to be extremely slow due to intake of food low in nutritional
value.
This has caused immune-deficiency in the patients. Hence the Minister
has decided to get down nutritious food and distribute it among the
needy. People could obtain these food items from co-operative stores,
submitting medical certificates, Ministry sources raid. |
