Museum at SLBC to mark anniversary
COLOMBO: A museum will be opened at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting
Corporation (SLBC) to mark its 40th anniversary which falls today.
The Radio Ceylon begun in 1926 was re-established as a Corporation in
1967.
Information and Mass Media Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa,
Ministry Secretary W. P. Ganegala and others who have contributed to the
Corporation will be present at the opening ceremony at 9.30 a.m.
The museum will house old instruments and pictures of personalities
of yesteryear who had rendered their services to the Corporation. The
museum will have a laboratory of languages and an unit to inform the
public during an emergency or disaster, SLBC sources said. |
