Rs. 7.5 m water project for Pangnagula
COLOMBO: The Pangnagula Drinking Water Supply Project,
implemented at Rs. 7.5 million was vested in the people at a ceremony
held under the Urban Development and Water Supply Minister Dinesh
Gunawardena's patronage.
The project was launched under the Seethawaka Navodaya Development
Programme as a part of the Community Water Supply and Sanitary Project
implemented under the Urban Development and Water Supply Ministry.
The Minister said Pangnagula and Kalutuwawa East are two villages in
an extremely uncongenial part of the Colombo District.
"The people in Colombo think that all parts of the Colombo District
are equally well off, but they should visit these areas and find for
themselves how far this myth is away from the truth," he said.
Minister Gunawardena unveiled the plaque in the presence of Deputy
Speaker Geethanjana Gunawardena, Ven. Kobbegala Sumanarathana Nayaka
Thera, Viharadhipathi of Pangnagula Sri Vivekarama Raja Maha Viharaya,
Western Provincial Council Member Lionel Kariyawasam, Project Director
W. Piyasena, Colombo District Director M. Wickramage, Seethawaka Urban
Council Opposition Leader W. Obeysinghe and Seethawaka Pradeshiya Sabha
Member Jayantha Rohana.
Deputy Speaker Geethanjana Gunawardena also spoke. |
