Market dips marginally

BOURSE: The stock market that started the year on a positive note on Tuesday dipped marginally yesterday with the activity level remaining moderate.

The All Share Price Index dropped by nearly one point to close at 2,744.71 but the Milanka Price Index gained by one point to close at 3,761.14 points. The turnover was Rs. 290 million with 7 million shares being traded.

Trading of 1.3 million Nations Trust Bank shares was the highlight of the day. The share gained Rs. 2 to close at Rs. 30.75. There was also interest in the telecom sector shares.
