Mahabodhi Society delegation calls on President
COLOMBO: A delegation from the Mahabodhi Society of India
called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday.

The delegates included Indian Lok Sabha Parliamentarian Dr. Prabha
Takoor, Mahabodhi Sangamaya President Dr. K.K. Modhi, Ven. Dr. Brathan
Lama, Ven. Dodangoda Rewatha and Ven. Kirama Wimala Jothi Theras.
According to the Buddhist philosophy the Mahabodhi Sangamaya is
devoted to build up the Peace throughout the world, Dr. Modhi stressed.
They also said the re- construction activities of Buddha Gaya was
finalised and highly appreciated the President's endeavour to uplift the
Buddha Sasanaya.
The Book titled "History of Japanese Buddhism" and a copy of "Dharmadoot"
written 1000 years ago, were presented to the President by Ven. Rewatha
Thera on this occasion. |
