Government will not deviate from talks - President
PRESIDENT Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday reiterated that
despite LTTE leader Prabhakaran's warnings, his Government will not in
any way deviate from a negotiated political settlement for permanent
peace in the country.

India reassures commitment to undivided Lanka
India yesterday reaffirmed its commitment to
preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sri Lanka. This
was conveyed to President Mahinda Rajapaksa, now on an official visit to
