Cricket coaching clinic at Nuwara Eliya

CRICKET: A cricket coaching clinic and a programme to identify venues to construct Astro Turf wickets will be undertaken by the Sri Lanka Cricket in association with the Nuwara Eliya District Cricket Association in the Nuwara Eliya District on Friday, November 12 commencing at 9.00 a.m. at Radella in Nanu Oya.

This cricket coaching clinic will be for school cricketers between the ages of 15 to 19 from schools in Nuwara Eliya, Ragala, Udapussellawa, Hanguranketha, Poramadulla, Hatton, Dickoya, Bogawantalawa, Ginigathena and Nawalapitiya. Around 150 school cricketers are expected to participate in this programme.

This coaching clinic will be headed by Sri Lanka's first cricket captain Bandula Warnapura in his position as the Director Cricket Operations (Sri Lanka Cricket), Malcolm Perera (Manager Coaching), Jerome Jayaratne (Head Coach - Max Cricket Academy), former Sri Lanka fast bowler Champaka Ramanayake (fast bowling), Central Province Coach Sunil Fernando, Piyal Wijetunga (spin bowling), Manoj Abeywickrema (fielding and wicket keeping), and S. Karthik from the Nuwara Eliya GA.
