Laws to prevent occupational hazards
Legislation to prevent occupational hazards in
all sectors, including the agricultural sector, is in its final
stages under the guidance of International Labour Organisation (ILO),
Minister of Labour Relations and Foreign Employment Athauda
Seneviratne said at the 6th National Safety Awards 2006 evolved and
sponsored by Eagle Insurance in collaboration with the Department of
Labour and Employees' Trust Fund Board.

'Apparel industry to bring 600 million USD by year end'
The Apparel industry has shown a steady progress
over a period of time and continues to grow even after dismantling
of the quota regime in 2005," Minister of Enterprise Development and
Investment Promotion Rohitha Bogollagama said at the inauguration
