MT to Iran

SYMPOSIUM: M. T. Fernando will leave for Iran to attend the first symposium on History of Sports in Iran that commences on 20th November 2006 on an invitation extended by the National Olympic and Paraolympics Academy of Independent Republic of Iran.

Fernando is an old boy of St. Peter's College who has won his college colours in rugger and athletics.

He is the Competitions Director of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka, Referees Chairman of the World Kabaddi Federation, Senior Vice President of the South Asian Tug-of-War Federation. Ex-FIFA referee and the Secretary General of the Asian Amateur Kabaddi Federation.

Professors, researchers and interested people from Iran and many other countries will attend the symposium.

The said symposium will be conducted by the National Olympic and Paralympics Academy of I.R. Iran.
