Mithum and Rahman on par again

GOLF: It all seems to be even stevens between the defending champion
M. Sidaq-Ul-Rahman of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka's bright prospect Mithum
Perera in the 119th Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Nationals, which enters the
third day at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.
A close contest between Mithum and Rahman appears to be developing
amidst the 47 competing golfers. On Wednesday day one, Mithum and Rahman
made the identical score of 67 for both to be 4 under par yesterday on
day two in the second round there was no letting up by either Mithum or
Rahman for both made the identical score of 69 to be 2 under par, with
an aggregate of 136, to be 6 under par together. They are both abreast
of each other and much will depend on how well they form today in the
third round and tomorrow's fourth.
Closing in is Sri Lanka's Tissa Chandradas who after the second round
has a 2 under par aggregate of 139. Sri Lanka's M. Arumugam notched 141,
India's Jasjeet Singh and Pakistan's Mohamed Ali Hai and Shahild Khan
all had 142. India's Shaurya Singh had made in 143.
Sri Lanka's K. Prabagaran had 145, M. Amarapathma had 144 and M.K.
Rakitha registered 146. These were the golfers amidst 47 others in
contention for championship honours. The competition is wide open with
the third and fourth rounds to be played today and tomorrow and much
will depend on how well the golfers perform in the remaining two days.
