New Navy Chief of Staff

COLOMBO: Rear Admiral Nandana Thuduwewatte has been appointed Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Navy from October 30. He will continue to hold the appointment of commandant KDA until his tenure is over.

Thudwewatte joined the Navy in 1971.

He is the Vice Chancellor - Commandant of the Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy.

He has served as Commander Northern Naval Area, Commander Western Naval Area and Director Naval operations.

He is a specialist navigator and graduated from the prestigious Naval Defence College of India and holds Masters Degree in Defence Studies.
