New cardiac surgery for Kandy hospital

KANDY: A fully facilitated surgery for cardiac operations will be opened in the hill capital in January 2007.

Dr. Samarasinghe, Director of the Kandy General Hospital, who is also in the Teaching Hospital category, said the construction work of this surgery project being implemented in the hospital premises are nearing completion.

Dr. Samarasinghe said the new cardiac surgery of Kandy would be (India's) Appolo Hospital in Sri Lanka.

He also outlined the most modern medical facilities and (would be) quality service that would be offered at the surgery.
