COLOMBO: The Saudi Arabian Government has donated Rs.140 million worth essential goods for Muttur victims.

The consignment will comprise 2,000 water proof tents, 4,000 blankets, 2,000 carpets, medicines and food items.

The Saudi Government agreed to donate these consignments as a result of discussions between Disaster Management and Human Rights Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe and envoys of Muslim nations.

A special delegation arrived in Sri Lanka to officially hand over the consignment. The delegation has expressed their consent to allocate a part of the consignment to the recent flood victims. The first Cargo flight will arrive in Sri Lanka today.
