Sangakkara gives cricket - loving youngsters a boost

CRICKET: One hundred lucky youngsters from across the country were bowled-over with the rare opportunity to showcase their smashing skills in the presence of Sri Lanka cricket team's Vice Captain Kumar Sangakkara.

The twoday cricket camp got off to a flying start on Saturday at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium amidst a carnival atmosphere. The 100 lucky winners, appropriately equalling a century, were divided into two groups of 50 each and given the opportunity to interact with the veteran batsman and wicketkeeper for a whole day.

The enthusiastic youngsters got the opportunity to interact closely with Kumar Sangakkara, who divulged valuable cricketing tips for improving their cricketing styles. He also posed for photographs and answered the many questions put forward to him by his young fans.

Viva General Manager GSK Sri Lanka, Jayant Singh speaking the Viva Coaching Camp said, "Cricket is in the hearts and minds of the people of this country. We want the youngsters of this country to get a chance to improve their cricketing skills". The event was sponsored by Viva.
