President pays tribute to SWRD

ATTANAGALLA: President Mahinda Rajapaksa paid tribute to
S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike at the 47th Bandaranaike Commemoration ceremony at
Horagolla yesterday.
President Rajapaksa paid floral tributes at the Samadhi to express
his gratitude to former Prime Minister and SLFP founder, S.W.R.D.
Bandaranaike, assassinated on September 25 at his Rosmead Place
residence in Colombo.
The late Prime Minister's son Tourism Minister Anura Bandaranaike and
daughter Sunethra were among those who paid floral tributes at the
Samadhi. Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake, SLFP General Secretary
and Minister Maithripala Sirisena, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva,
Senior Ministers, Parliamentarians, Governors, Chief Ministers, Trade
Union representatives, Indian Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mani
Shankar Aiyar representing the Congress Party in India and Indian High
Commissioner Nirupama Rao also paid floral tributes.

Welimitiyawe Kusaladhamma thera offered Punyanumodanawa. |
