Well-known film Director Kalasuri K.A.W. Perera dead

MAHARAGAMA: Versatile and well- known Film Director Kalasuri K.A.W.Perera(81),died on Sunday after a brief illness.

Perera joined the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation as a Programme Director and then entered the Sinhala cinema contributing in a big way for its survival at times of difficulties.

He directed 26 films and among them were Lasanda, Kapatikama, Kathuru Muwath, Lokuma Hinawa, Hingana Kolla, Janaka Saha Manju, Dhawala Pushpaya, Adara Ratne, Wasana, Railpara, Madhuri, and Sumedha. K.A.W. Perera's cremation takes places on Wednesday, (August 23) at 4.00 pm at the General Cemetery, Borella.

His body is now lying at his residence at No. 64/A, Rajamaha Vihara Road, Sucharitha Mawatha, Nawinna, Maharagama.
