Sports Letters
Let's remember the coach too
We are celebrating the record breaking victories of our rejuvenated
cricket team in England and Holland. We paid tribute to our energetic
captain Mahela Jayawardena for his contribution and motivation of the
team members. We also showered praise on our master blaster and
evergreen Sanath Jayasuriya for his explosive innings in England as well
as in Holland.
However, we, conveniently, forgot to recognize the hard work of one
silent figure who was not seen in the field while our boys were
exploding.
He is none other than our inspiring coach who brought confidence into
the team, without which we have been failing miserably before.
Let's say well done to our coach Tom Moody.
Readers will remember how some critics tore him apart when our team
was failing, then why shouldn't we praise him when we are winning.
We have got our lost hope back and now, we are a major contender for
the next year's World Cup. Let's thank Tom Moody for his tireless work
and highly productive contribution.

We are proud of Mahela and Sanga
Further to my last letter submitted on the topic, I do wish to state,
that our stylish batsman, Kumar Sangakkara had sadly missed the triple
century (300) mark, that was a really very unfortunate and
disappointment; but his excellent, exemplary supportiveness, grit,
patience, inspiration and batting performance steadily along with his
skipper Mahela Jayawardena will be a unique achievement and milestone in
the history of our country's cricket, that will also be a good exemplary
lesson to our young cricketers and future generations (in order to
follow, or copy) indeed!
A Big Salute, to Mahela and Sanga! We are very proud of you both.
