Ceylinco Life Ran Daru art competition gets under way
CSR PROJECT: The Ceylinco Life 'Ran Daru' Art competition and
exhibition got under way on July 15 with an invitation to children of
all ages countrywide to submit their paintings for judging by an eminent
independent panel.
The third in the series, the 2006 Ran Daru Art competition is
expected to involve more than 60,000 children from pre-school age to 18
years from all districts of the island, the life insurance leader said
this week.
This islandwide art competition conducted in four age groups will
offer participants an opportunity to win 12 cash scholarships worth
nearly Rs. 600,000 and 488 consolation prizes, providing a cumulative
prize value of more than Rs. 1.5 million in addition to national
exposure for their talents. Additionally, every single participant
receives an attractive certificate.
The event organised under the banner of Ceylinco Life's popular 'Ran
Daru' Child Protection Policy, is a replication of the spectacularly
successful art competition and exhibition organised by the company in
2004 and last year, with some noteworthy improvements, the company said.
The event will be open to children in the pre-school category, and 50
of the best submissions in this age group will be displayed at the Ran
Daru art exhibition scheduled for October 7 and 8 in Colombo, bringing
the total number of paintings to be displayed this year to 500.
Each of the other three age groups will have 150 of the best
paintings on display. |
