Formula Plus Classic Car Rally enthralls vintage car enthusiasts

Classic Car: The Formula Plus Classic Car Rally held with the Classic Car Club of Ceylon paraded the streets of Colombo, as they made their way up to Seeduwa to the Formula World Centre for a day of fun activities.

The event kicked off from Greenpath with several unique models of classic cars lining up the streets displaying Formula Plus flags, while many classic car enthusiasts joined the parade to cheer the participants to Seeduwa. Arrival at the Formula World centre was a celebration itself with flags displayed along the entrance ready to welcome the participants after their drive from Colombo.

Plenty of food and drinks coupled with Jazz music gave everyone a time to relax and get ready for the rest of the day's proceedings which included several games and competitions for the kids, ladies and car owners.

Starting off the competitions was car musical chairs for men that caught the thrills of every spectator who watched eagerly to get a glimpse of the ultimate winner. The next event of the day was a wheel changing competition that saw the skills of each car owner, as they were judged on precise timing taken to remove a car wheel from their own vehicle.

The ladies were not left idling as they too were entertained with a bottle pouring competition and a blind fold event, which led them to identify their husband's car, while been blind folded, whereas the kids were sent off on a treasure hunt around Formula World where their task was to find car body parts and be rewarded. The winner of the Car Musical Chairs was T.R Dias, while the Wheel Changing competition was won by John Ranabahu.

The ladies bottle pouring event was won by Mrs. Enoka Wanigasundara, while Mrs. Mai Hosoe emerged as the winner of the blind fold competition. Amrith Alles was the winner of the children's event.

The day culminated with lunch and a classic Jazz show performed by Jerome Spelderwind and his band, enjoyed by all present. Organized by Sri Lanka Insurance in association with the Classic Car Club of Ceylon the Formula Plus Classic Car Rally was held to celebrate the launch of Sri Lanka's first state of the art Collision Repair Centre, Formula World.
