SOCCER: Java Lane Sports Club from Slave Island defeated Golden Star
Sports Club from Kandy two goals to nil in the opening game of the Kit
Premier League Segment 'B' at the Bogambara stadium last Saturday.
In a another game played at the M.H. Mohamed ground, Borella, Old
Bens Sports Club, Kotahena beat Jupiters Sports Club, Negombo in the
same group one goal to nil.
The Segment 'A' matches of the Kit Premier League which was due to
commence on the same have been postponed.
The Football Federation has taken this decision as most of the
players representing the clubs in this group are undergoing training in
preparation for the forthcoming South Asian Games.
The Games will continue till August 29, hence the matches of Segment
'A' are to commence in the early part of September said an official of
the FFSL. |
