Antonians gain first innings win

SLC U-23 cricket

CRICKET: Antonians SC registered a first innings win over Ratnapura CC in their under 23 division two encounter. Ratnapura CC scored 213 and 301 respectively. In reply the Anthonians scored 242 and 66 for 1. Dilan Chandaka top scored for RCC in both innings with 86 and 87 respectively.

RCC: 213 all out (Dilan Chandaka 86, Sameera Abeysinghe 40, Chintaka Lakmal 36, D. Dushantha 4 for 64) and 301 all out (Dilan Chandaka 87, D. Kannangara 39, Chintaka Lakmal 57, I. Asanka 4 for 39).

Antonians SC 242 all out (Aravinda Silva 62, D. Dushantha 86, Sameera Abeysinghe 3 for 64, A. Chinthaka 5 for 68) and 66 for 1, Sanjaya Wijemanne 36 not out.

Ratnapura CC take zmajor honours

Ratnapura CC vs Galle CC under 23 Div. II encounter ended with RCC taking major honours in the first innings. The Ratnapura CC scored 247 in the first innings with a top score of 61 from Manil Hettigewatte.

Galle CC replied with 189. Jayasekera scored 74 while Chinthaka Prasad captured 4 for 44. In the second essay Ratnapura CC were bowled out for 197, at close Galle CC were 167 for 7.

RCC: 247 all out (Dilan Chandaka 37, Manil Hettigewatte 61, Sameera Abeysinghe 29, Niran Jayasekara 3 for 75) and 197 all out (Chintaka Lakmal 61, Nuwan Sameera 29, Sameera Abeysinghe 31, N. Jayasekara 4 for 32).

Galle CC 189 all out (Nadika Nishantha 45, D. Jayasekara 74 Chinthaka Prasad 4 for 44, Sameera Abeysinghe 3 for 40) and 167 for 7 (R. Jayasekara 60 not out, Sujeewa Chinthaka 42, Sameera Abeysinghe 3 for 40, Udaya Kumara 3 for 38).

First innings win

SSC registered a first innings win over CCC in their u-23 encounter at CCC grounds. Radhiv Fernando scored a chanceless 101 and Dilshan Cooray contributed 64 to bolster the S.S.C. score.

The Bowling honours went to Chatura Bandara of C.C.C. who captured 3 for 59. Nuwan Perera and Sohan Bowala captured 2 wickets each.

The C.C.C. in reply 181 in 50.5 overs. Eshan Abeysinghe contributed a top score of 57. Dunil Abeydeera captured 4 for 55 and Suraj Mohomad and Sachithra Senanayake captured 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Following on C.C.C. scored a respectable 204 for 5. Eshan Abeysinghe once again top scored with 77 while Malinga Maligaspe was not out 60 ably assisted by Ganganath Ratnayake who was on 43 not out.

Sachitra Senanayake 3 for 61, Suraj Mohomad 2 for 53).

BRC win

BRC beat Lankan CC in the first innings in their encounter in the under 23 cricket match held at STC grounds in Mount Lavinia. BRC scored 349 and bowled out the Lankan CC for 170. In the second innings the Lankans had better figures with 187 for 5.

BRC: 349 all out (Mohan Weerasooriya 52, Dilan Sandagirigoda 61, Supun Devendra 47, Dilum Harischandra 57, Piyal Chaturanga 26 not out, A.Nigal 3 for 76, Lakmal Perera 7 for 81)

LCC 170 allout (Sasika Maduranga 53, P.Shamika 28, Oshitha Dharshana 4 for 73) and 157 for 5 (S. Dhanushka 27, Tilan Dasun 40, Lakmal Perera 61 not out, Shasika Ashan 38, S. Pahan 2 for 14).

Namal a fine ton

The match between Negombo CC and Old Moratu Vidyalaya with Negombo CC grabbing the honours in the first innings. R.S. Namal scored a fine century for the OMV in the second innings.

Old Moratuwa Vidyalaya 167 (S. M. Fernando 20, H. N. Fernando 64, M. Rathnayake 2 for 42, S. T. R. Jayawardene 5 for 46, I. Pushpakumara 2 for 18) and 272 for 8 (M. Kumara 21, C. Weeratunga 32, R. S. Negombo CC 232 (S. Maduragoda 45, H. H. D. Wijeveera 28, E. C. Madushanka 28, A. Peiris 40 not out, S. P. Fernando 4 for 30, A. S. Madushanka 2 for 27, S. M. Fernando 2 for 54, R. E. Namal 2 for 40) and 105 for 2 (S. Maduragoda 39 not out, D. Wijeveera 85 not out).

Kelaniya in out right win

Kelaniya CC scored an outright win over Old Anandians in their under 23 division two encounter. Gayan Wimal of Kelaniya had a match bag of 8 wickets for 79.

Old Anandians 165 all out (Ranganath Wijetunga 77 not out, Malith Gunathilake 30, W. Gayan 4 for 37, Kusal Chamara 2 for 18, Deepal Kulathunga 3 for 57) and 154 all out (Matheesha Perera 46, Udara peiris 23 not out, Malith Gunathilake 24, Gayan Wimal 4 for 42, Rishi Ukwatte 2 for 12, Deepal Kulatunga 3 for 45).

Kelaniya CC 166 all out (Chamara Kodituwakku 71, Rumesh Jayasekara 50, Malith Gunathilake 3 for 40, Ruchira Herath 3 for 5, Udara Peiris 2 for 39) and 157 for 8 (Mohomad Asiff 33, Dilruksha Wijesekara 34, S.Dharshana 31 not out, Gayan Wimal 15, Ishara Wickramasinghe 5 for 31, Ruchira Herath 2 for 18).

A six wicket victory

Lankan CC registered a 6 wickets victory over Gesto CC in their u-23 encounter. Thilina Dasun scored a brilliant century while Shashika Ashan contributed 53 to bring up the Lankans score.

Gesto CC 199 allout (Ranga Deeptha 50, Mahendra Perera 43, Dinesh Rangana 51, Chanuka Lakshan 3 for 29, Thilan Dhasun 2 for 41, Milan Dilruksha 2 for 59) and 243 all out (Mahendra Perera 71, Roshan Silva 45, Dhanushka de Saram 4 for 70, Chanuka Lakshan 4 for 69).

Lankan CC 349 all out (Thilan Dasun 133, Shashika Ashan 53, Shashika Maduranga 32, Rangana Kaushalya 5 for 59) and 64 for 4 Shashika Maduranga 38 not out, D. Tharanga 2 for 21, Rangana Kaushalya 2 for 14).
