Relief from Seylan Bank

CREDIT CARDS: All Credit Card issuing banks have been instructed by the Department of Inland Revenue to commence charging stamp duty from all credit cardholders, commencing April 4, at the rate of Rs. 10 for every Rs. 1,000 or part thereof spent.

However to provide relief to cardholders and also to prevent the public moving from plastic to cash due to a temporary setback, Seylan bank has taken a bold decision to absorb the cost of Stamp Duty from August until further notice, a Syelan bank press release said.

It all said that All Seylan Card members will have the added advantage of using their Seylan Visa Credit Cards without the burden of having to pay Stamp Duty.

This benefit is offered in addition to the existing value additions such as Grants Scheme, Zero Interest Instalment scheme, Bonus Points Scheme and the Free Travel and Medical Insurance Cover. In keeping in line with the tax benefit offered to credit cardholders Seylan Bank, the highest issuer of VISA cards, also decided to bear the Debit Tax and Fuel Surcharge imposed on Debit Cards from August 1 until further notice.

The above privileges are offered exclusively to Seylan Visa Cardholders.

Seylan Bank being an ingenious local bank will make every endeavour to serve all Sri Lankans towards a better future.
