A facelift for Biyagama EPZ

RENOVATION: The Biyagama export processing zone is to be developed as one of the best in Asia under a programme initiated by the Minister of Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion Rohitha Bogollagama under the new programme.

Theconstruction of the access road to the zone Samurdhi Mawatha, a 7 km stretch starting from Kiribathgoda on Colombo Kandy Road was in a dilapidated condition and is completed at a cost of Rs. 200 million.

The entry permit office which was earlier located in side block A has been newly constructed outside the zone allowing easy access for visitors to both blocks A&B.

A medical centre will be opened shortly for the services of the zone workers as well as the general public.

Minister of Enterprises Development and Investment Promotion Rohitha Bogollagama inspected the road construction work on Saturday. Senior officials of the BOI were also present.
