NHDA's 'Jana Sevana' a success in North with 618 houses
COLOMBO: The 'Jana Sevana' housing program implemented by the
National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) under the guidance of the
Housing and Construction Ministry has shown successful results in all
districts in the North during the first half of this year with the
completion of 618 houses in Vavuniya, Jaffna, Mannar and Kilinochchi.
Accordingly the newly completed houses have been received by 86
families in Vavuniya, 100 families in Killinochchi, 232 families in
Mannar and 100 families in Jaffna, the NHDA said in a news release. 'The
ability to implement a housing development program in the North
utilising housing loans and other assistance provided by the government
despite the prevailing tension in the region should be considered as a
great achievement,' the release said.
The housing beneficiaries in the North are eagerly repaying their
housing loan installments despite financial constraints and the loan
recovery ratio is more than 50 per cent, the release added. |
