Issara heading for Asian Snooker supremacy

SNOOKER: Thailand's Issara Kachaiwong impressed as a snooker cueist
of class, when from day one of the seven day Asian Snooker Championship
now in its final stages at the Pegasus Reef Hotel - he held his own to
get past the preliminaries and the quarter finals, with effortless ease
which was marked by precise placements and chipping that found the
pockets easily.
In yesterday's first semi-final Issara was pitted against Singapore'
Aun Keith, a 9 frames match. Though conceding the first frame to Aun
Keith at 53/91, Issara stormed in with snooking his opponent at times,
cushioning and potting ever so well to take the next five frames all in
a row.
He played in a masterly fashion to have a 104 break in the second
frame and a break of 120 in the third frame. He also earlier had a break
of 137, the highest for the tournament in another match.
The scores where he defeated Keith in this semi-final were 53/91,
112/16, 57/56, 85/1 and 59/50.
Issara will now meet the winner of the second semi-final between
Mohamed M. Shehab of UAE and China's Yuan Li in tomorrow's final. |
