ARBL expands battery operations in Lanka

EXPANSION: India's leading battery manufacturer Amara Raja Batteries
Limited (ARBL) announced its business expansion plans in Sri Lanka.
National Sales Manager Ganesh Swaminathan said: "We plan to
aggressively expand our operations by increasing the network base from
150+ to 350 by end 2006 and achieve a market share of 10% shortly" he
added.
Going by the performance of our products worldwide, we are increasing
the warranty on our product - Amaron Hi-Life - to 36-months, which is
perhaps the first of its kind in the Lankan market, providing better
value to our customers," Swaminathan said.
'To strengthen its customers support in Colombo, ARBL plans to launch
a 24 hour Anytime Response Helpline to cater to customer queries; and
also a full-fledged service network, Chairman Samudhi Tyre Traders (Pvt)
Ltd, Gamini Ratnayake said.
Amara Raja Batteries Limited, an Amara Raja-Hohnson Controls Company
with 26% equity from Johnson Controls, is the technology leader in the
Indian storage battery industry, manufacturing batteries for both
Industrial and Automotive applications. |
