'Tharuna Aruna' grooming graduates for private sector jobs
The Government will provide training and
development for 2,000 university graduates for private sector
employment needs under the 'Tharuna Aruna' programme. This is done
under the World Bank funding programme by the Ministry of Skills
Development and Public Enterprises, sources said.

Gem Authority sets up service centre in Beruwala
The National Gem and Jewellery Authority has
introduced new services for gem traders in Paththekade, Beruwala to
facilitate their trading through a service centre last week. The
Chairman of the NGJA, Hasitha Thilakarathne said that through this
service centre, traders will be able to do gem testing and gain
professional opinion on authenticity. Information on imports and
exports will also be provided.
