Four bankers attend global banking symposium in New York
CONFERENCE: JP Morgan Treasury Services, a full-service provider of
cash management, trade finance, and treasury solutions, recently held
its annual Global Banking Symposium in New York from June 5 to 9.
Themed "Facing Challenges, Seizing Opportunities", the conference
brought together Financial Institutions (FIs) from around the world to
provide information, interaction and focus around the issues that face
the correspondent banking business.
This year, JP Morgan hosted nearly 30 representatives from financial
institutions in 20 countries to the week-long meeting.
And as a sign of the growing importance of Sri Lanka, four senior
bankers from the market attended the event. Amitha Gooneratne, Managing
Director and Chief Executives of Commercial Bank, Douglas Weerasinghe,
Deputy General Manager of International and Treasury at Bank of Ceylon,
Asoka De Silva, CEO and General Manager of People's Bank and Kapila
Ariyaratne, Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking at People's Bank
attended. |
