ICCA-SLCB conference successful
CONFERENCE: Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) together with
International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Asia Pacific
Chapter successfully conducted The ICCA - SLCB Professional Development
Programme MICE programme (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conferences and
Exhibitions) for the fourth consecutive year at Golden Sun Resort -
Kalutara from June 22 to 24, 2006.
ICCA, which assisted the Bureau to conduct this workshop with
international speakers, is one of the most prominent organisations in
the world of international meetings with members in 80 countries around
the world.
Thirty from Bureau's membership attended the workshop representing
professional conference organisers, exhibition organisers, event
organisers, destination management companies, conference hotels,
conference/exhibition centres, and airlines.
The topics that were taken up at the workshop were wide ranging from
Winning bids, role of research, in meetings marketing, designing and
pitching incentive programmes, essential planning steps for successful
international trade fairs, How Hotels approach the MICE Market, Risk
Management, Role of the Ground Tour Operator/DMC/Exhibition Organisers
to Running Effective Familiarisation Tours.
The four speakers sponsored by ICCA were Elizabeth Rich from
Australia, Paul Woodward - Hong Kong, Eunice Chua - Singapore and Angela
Chau - Malaysia. |
