CB will remain independent - Cabraal

ASSUMES DUTIES: Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal assumed duties at the Central Bank premises yesterday.

Addressing staff Cabraal said that Central Bank is an independent organisation and expects to function as an independent organisation in the future too.

Central Bank of Sri Lanka is one of the main organisations that has the most valuable human resources in the country and I am happy to be part of it, he said.

Cabraal stressed that he would maintain a good relationship with private sector, banking sector and international organisations in formulating policies.
