Actor convicted of assaulting paramour's husband

COLOMBO: Kaduwela Magistrate Champa Janaki Rajaratne convicted
actor Roger Seneviratne of assaulting and causing grievous hurt to his
paramour's husband.
The victim is a businessman.
The sentence will be imposed on June 22.
Attorneys-at-Law Nalin Ladduwahetty, U.L.G. Bandara and Namal Perera
led the prosecution.
During the proceedings, it was pointed out that the plaintiff had
suffered serious damage to his limbs. It was revealed that during the
shooting of a teledrama at the plaintiff's residence, the accused had
started a friendship with the plaintiff's wife.
Later, the plaintiff's wife had left her husband and continued to
live with the accused at a house at Kalalgoda.
When the plaintiff visited his wife and requested her to return as
their two daughters had come from New Zealand, she had turn down his
request. On his way back, the accused allegedly assaulted the plaintiff
with an iron bar.
Meanwhile, in the case filed against the plaintiff for causing minor
injuries to his wife, the Judge acquitted the suspect plaintiff. |
