Confab on "Creative ways of financing by securitisation of receivables"

WORKSHOP: The Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka Limited (MBSL) has organised an evening seminar followed by a panel discussion on Creative ways of financing by Securitisation of Receivables on June 13, 2006 at Hotel Trans Asia.

The key speakers will be Senior Manager, Capital Markets, MBSL Jayantha Perera and Partner, Messrs Legal, Inc Cecil Perera.

An interactive discussion headed by Partner, Messrs Julius and Creasy R. Senathi Rajah, Partner, Messrs Ernst and Young Duminda Hulangamuwa and Chief Operations Officer, MBSL Gamini Karunathilake will share their experience with the participants.

Securitisation is a financial technique that pools assets together and in effect turns them into a tradable security. Financial institutions and many businesses use securitisation for immediate realisation of cash-producing asset.

Securitisation can also have the benefit of eliminating a particular group of assets from the balance sheet of a company.

This seminar will provide an insight into the concept, structuring, documentation, legal and taxation/stamp duty aspects of Securitisation followed by a panel discussion at the end of the session.

This seminar will cover aspects such as ways of loan Securitisation, structuring and operations of the loan securitisation process, documentation process involved taxation and stamp duty aspects.
