Teacher transfers effective from June

ANURADHAPURA: All teacher transfers in the North Central Province will be effective from June 1. The special teacher transfer appeal board took this decision at a meeting held at the Governor's office auditorium recently. Board President A. W. C. Ariyadasa presided.

The Board also decided to take up all appeals made by teachers against transfers at its meeting on May 31.

Among the other decisions taken by the Board were: To call upon Chief Ministry Secretary to direct all applications for inter-provincial transfers to the respective Provincial Public Service Commission for their concurrence, sort out any problems regarding transfers after discussions with the NCP governor, Zonal Education Directors and Trade Unions and to honour and recognise the services of teachers moving out of the province after duly completing their tenure in the NCP.
