Woman suspect arrested near BMICH

A woman loitering in a suspicious manner near the BMICH, Colombo, where the International Media Day Commemoration was in progress, was arrested by the Cinnamon Garden Police yesterday and was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate Sarojani Kusala Weerawardene who remanded the suspect till May 05

. The woman suspect was identified as Sivaramya Sivanadan of Pinwatta Road, Dehiwala who has come to Colombo from Jaffna in 1996 and lived in Wellawatta some time back before she came to her present residence in Dehiwala, according to Police investigations.

The Cinnamon Garden Police informed Court that the C.I.D., Terrorist Investigation Unit and the National Intelligence Bureau have been informed of her arrest and had called for a full report as to her any involvement in terrorist activities and requested Court to remand her till investigations are over.
