Market gains

BOURSE: The market was up yesterday. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose by 15.07 points to 2,278.48 points and the Milanka Price Index (MPI) also increased by 12.95 points to 2,874.37 points. The total equity turnover was Rs. 188.6 million for the day.

The net foreign inflows were Rs. 41.8 millions with foreign purchases registering Rs. 54.4 millions and foreign sales registering Rs. 12.6 million during the course of the day.

The total market capitalisation was Rs. 692.9 billion for the day. The top five gainers were Colombo Land 1/- (W), Hapugastenne (N), Fortress Resorts (N), Parquet (N), Three Acre Firms (N). The top five losers were Sigiriya Village (N), Vanik Incorp. Ltd (N), Vanik Incorp. Ltd (X), Keells Hotels (N) and HNB Assurance (N).
