FCCISL, Pakistan Chamber to establish Joint Business Council
MOU: The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka
(FCCISL) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (FPCCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the
establishment of a Joint Business Council (JBC) during the visit of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Pakistan.
AGREEMENT: Senior Vice President Kosala Wickramanayake, President
FCCISL, Nawaz Rajabdeen and officials from the Pakistan and
President FPCCI Chaudhry Muhammad Saed after signing the
agreement. |
This has been mooted since the business representatives of both Sri
Lanka and Pakistan feel the need to establish a cooperative body on a
private initiative so as to bring closer together the business
communities of the two countries, said President, FCCISL Nawaz Rajabdeen.
This JBC would provide a forum for more systematic business
promotional activities in trade, investment, technology transfer,
services and other industrial sectors.
The JBC agreement will also provide a regular and recognized platform
for discussions on promotion of these activities between businessmen and
industrialists of the two countries.
FPCCI officials will visit Amman Jordan from May 9 on the invitation
of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce to sign MoU for the establishment of
Pakistan - Jordan Joint Business Council. |
