Retrenched employees at Vocational Training Ministry confirmed

COLOMBO: Fifty six employees attached to the Vocational and Technical Training Ministry who were retrenched by the last UNP regime, received permanent letters recently.

Vocational and Technical Training Minister Piyasena Gamage, addressing at the handing over of appointment letters at the Ministry auditorium, said the appointees would be posted to 38 Technical Colleges islandwide with the hope of creating a new society in keeping with the Mahinda Chintana.

The Minister paid tribute to Ministry Secretary Thilak Hapangama and Additional Secretary W.M.S. Wijekone for taking great pains to obtain the Treasury approval for their reinstatement, he said.

The Ministry Secretary, Additional Secretary Wijekone, Technical Education and Training Department acting Director General Santha Manatunga and the appointees' parents were present.
