ICASL, Microsoft partnership to benefit members
IT: Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and
Microsoft Sri Lanka recently announced a partnership under which the
software provider and ICASL's efforts would enhance the professional
skills of its members, students and corporate community.
This partnership would also enhance the ability of taking information
technology to rural areas and this would be fostered by the wide network
of students and organisations that are aligned with ICASL.
The two parties entered into a Memorandum of Understanding recently
under which ICASL with the support of Microsoft will conduct training
programmes on the use of Information Technology as a tool to unleash the
potential of an organisation.
ICASL will offer such programmes to its 3,000 members as well as
22,000 student members.
These training programmes will also be targeted at senior executives.
ICASL will provide classroom training on applications such as
Microsoft project, Microsoft small business accounting 2005, Microsoft
CRM, Navision and Balance Score Card which are suited for the accounting
profession.
The two organisations will also take efforts to promote the use of IT
in Sri Lanka by conducting seminars addressing specific needs facing the
industry. The agreement also encompasses ICASL accrediting itself as a
Microsoft training partner, a stamp of its ability to deliver a complete
technology training solution for faculty and students.
The Institute will be able to utilise teaching structures, faculty
training programmes, and material devised by Microsoft. |
