No Travel advisory for Sri Lanka
ADVISORY: The British High Commission in Colombo says that
there is no travel advisory against Sri Lanka.
A release from the High Commission said that the travel advisory on
Sri Lanka has been restricted to the North East. "We advise against all
but essential travel to the North and the East of Sri Lanka," states the
Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) website on April 18.
A spokesman for the British High Commission said that they advise UK
nationals not to travel to the North East. However now there is no
warning by the Embassy not to travel to Sri Lanka. The FAO also states
that there have been no reported cases of Avian Influenza (also known as
Bird flu) in Sri Lanka during the current series of outbreaks. But the
World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed cases elsewhere in the
region. More details could be obtained from www.fco.uk |
