Shivanga Ranasuriya captured a five wicket haul as St. Peter's College set up a semifinal clash against their traditional rivals St. Joseph's College by defeating Prince of Wales College Moratuwa by 48 runs in their inter school limited overs cricket tournament quarterfinal match played at the BRC grounds, Havelock Park yesterday.

Ranasuriya returned excellent figures of five wickets for 12 runs from 7.5 overs and went on win the man of the match award as the Cambrians were dismissed for 150 while chasing the Peterite score of 198.

St. Peter's: 198 in 44.4 overs (K. Magage 71, D. Udugamasuriya 31, H. Fernando 23, A. Silva 27 n.o, A. Perera 20, I. Gunasena 3 for 36, R. Kumara 3 for 18) Prince of Wales: 150 in 37.5 overs (I. Hewage 40, A. Meegoda 42, L. Rodrigo 2 for 45, S. Ranasuriya 5 for 12) C.D.

Six wicket win for Joes

Former captain Hashan Gunatilleke hit a solid half century to guide St. Joseph's College to a convincing six wicket victory over St. Sylvester's College Kandy in their inter school limited overs cricket tournament quarterfinal match played at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Goonathilake earned the man of the match award for his fine contribution as the Josephians reached their target with more than ten overs to spare.

St. Sylvester's: 128 in 47.3 overs (R. Wickremaratne 41, M. Ishan 27, P. Sankalpa 3 for 8, A. Matthew 2 for 22, R. Weerasinghe 2 for 8)

St. Joseph's: 130 for 4 in 38.4 overs (H. Goonathilake 50, A. de Livera 32 n.o, N. Nazoordeen 2 for 34) C.D.

Dharmaprema 5/22

Promising off spinner Chalitha Dharmaprema captured five wickets for 22 runs as Kingswood College Kandy trounced St. Aloysius College Galle by 86 runs in their inter school limited overs cricket tournament quarterfinal match played at Thurstan College grounds, yesterday.

Dharmaprema finished with the best figures of five wickets for 22 runs as the Kingswoodians qualified to meet Ananda College in the second semifinal on Thursday at Braybrooke Place.

Kingswood: 236 for 9 in 50 overs (I. Senaratne 50, N. Perera 61, A. Amarasinghe 23, R. Rajab 2 for 27, D. Samarawickrema 2 for 41, C. Isanka 2 for 23)

Ananda win

Ananda College produced a fine all round performance to beat Dharmaraja College Kandy by 26 runs in their inter school limited overs cricket tournament quarterfinal match played at the NCC grounds, Maitland Place yesterday.

Ananda: 171 for 9 in 50 overs (A. Athulathmudali 49, V. Wijesuriya 31, T. Perera 2 for 20, R. Suriyarachchi 2 for 28, S. Rajapaksa 2 for 21)
