LG bodies should be in line with Central Govt. - Chamal
D. C. de Silva, Kahawa special correspondent
KAHAWA: The administration of the local bodies and their public-based
activities must go in par with the central government if best results
are to be achieved, said Agriculture Development Minister Chamal
Rajapakse.
It is quite evident and frequent that when the Central Govt. is going
ahead with a particular plan, opinion or a project proposal the local
govt. body too is trying to handle the same differently. This has caused
much disputes and leads to a tug-of-war was resulting a drastic damage
to the public service, said Rajapakse told the Daily News.
He said: "Amalgamation of these two bodies have become a vitally
important aspect today since President Rajapakse is keen to identify
programmes that keep up the life fabric of the people, especially in
rural sector.
It will be very much helpful and will pave the way for smooth
functioning of public activities, if the said two bodies unite and have
an understanding on each other on what they do in order to make the
aspirations of the President a reality". |
