Deputy Polls Chief praises Information Department for splendid job

COLOMBO: Deputy Elections Commissioner P. M. Siriwardene said the Government Information Department had performed a splendid job by disseminating results of this Local Government Polls among the electronic and print media without any delay.

The rapport the Director Information had with this Elections Commissioner was very close and the staff of the Government Information Department had rendered a tireless service in releasing this polls results to media without any complaint, Siriwardene said.

He warned this print and electronic media in advance to refrain from entertaining unofficial results from various sources and to abide by the official results released by the Director, Government Information Department.

Meanwhile Director Information Anusha Pelpita thanked the Elections Commissioner and his staff for the co-operation his staff for the smooth functioning of work throughout the entire process.
