100,000 MT of fertiliser from Russia

COLOMBO: The Russian Government has pledged to provide fertiliser to
Sri Lanka at concessionary rates to enable it to further implement its
fertiliser subsidy scheme.
According to Agriculture Development Minister Chamal Rajapaksa,
100,000 metric tons of fertiliser is to be imported from Russia.
"The Ministry through this move intends to save nearly US$ 9 million
expended by the national budget on the fertiliser subsidy."
